WHMAZ ships with a browser-based installer. Budget about fifteen minutes, and have your database details and license key to hand before you start.
Before you begin
- Confirm your server meets the requirements — see WHMAZ System Requirements.
- Create an empty MySQL database and a dedicated database user with full privileges on it.
- Upload and extract the WHMAZ archive into the directory you want to serve it from.
- Point your domain or subdomain at that directory and make sure HTTPS resolves.
Running the installer
- Visit
https://yourdomain.com/installin a browser. - Step 1 – Requirements check. Anything flagged red must be fixed before you continue. Fix it, then reload the page.
- Step 2 – File permissions. Directories should be
755and files644. The installer will tell you which paths it needs to write to. - Step 3 – Database. Enter the host, database name, user and password you created earlier.
- Step 4 – Admin account. Set your real business email address and a strong password. This becomes your administrator login.
- Step 5 – Site settings. Company name, site URL, and the Software License section — see Entering Your WHMAZ License Key.
After the installer finishes
- Delete or rename the
installdirectory. Leaving it in place is a security risk. - Set up the cron job — nothing renews or suspends automatically until you do. See Setting Up the WHMAZ Cron Job.
- Work through First Steps After Installing WHMAZ.
If you chose to install the demo data, remove the demo customer and any demo administrator accounts before you go live.
